PROJECT SWAMP

Project Swamp - began as a Hillsborough County–based initiative to restore and protect the Hillsborough River. Our mission is simple: rally volunteers to clean the river while funding the effort through sales of exclusive Project Swamp Gear. Every volunteer receives a shirt as a thank-you for their time and dedication.

Our long-term vision is to grow Project Swamp into a nonprofit organization, allowing us to continue — and expand — these cleanup efforts Monthly

On August 2nd, 2025, we hit the water with our first large-scale cleanup, covering a two-mile stretch of the Hillsborough River from Lowry Park to Rowlett Park, removing trash and raising awareness for the health of our waterways.

  • Volunteers

Through the help of the community and will-power Volunteers who care about the community step up and join the swampland defenders in their journey to clean the Hillsborough river.

  • Trash Collection

Thanks to our project managers and dedicated volunteers, we joined forces in a coordinated effort to collect and properly dispose of trash.

  • Celebrate

After the cleanup, we come together in a designated spot to relax, fire up the barbecue, and share a meal. Volunteers receive their Project Swamp t-shirts, and we take the time to connect, swap stories, and celebrate the success of our shared community effort.
